Once upon a time, there was this heroic journalist named GARY WEBB who,
after he exposed the CIA SUPPLYING drugs to L.A. Dealers got "SUICIDED."
Everyone thought the CIA did it.
That was a top story 20 yrs ago. Danny Casolero, another reporter,
got onto the same story; he called the drug thing a mere TINY WORKING PART of
the greater ENTITY which he called "THE OCTUPUS". A drug funded sister
agency to the STATE DEPT. THE "HATE DEPARTMENT." Cuz they ran assassinations
like the ones against the Kennedy family. And had stolen PROMIS software to spy
on crooked pols and blackmail politicians into doing whatever they wanted.
Danny told his family 'if you find me did, CIA did it.' He was found dead.
Look up those names. I decided to keep looking for signs online of what
story Gary Webb was working on this time of his suicide, what story
or what book (and do the same for Michael Hastings whom they also murdered.) From what I read Gary Webb was working a story about the camera enforced red lights in Sacramento County. It may not have been enough to get killed over, but these things are a multimillion (if not multibillion!) dollar a year SCAM foisted on the public in the supposed interest of safety. So
maybe he did get killed over that.
Every unbiased study I have seen shows that the accident rate goes up when one of these systems is installed at an intersection. I say every unbiased study because the single study that attempted to prove otherwise was sponsored by a group that was basically the auto insurance industry. The increase in insurance rates for people who get these tickets amounts to another multimillion dollar a year scam. This explains the Auto Club's failure to fight against these menaces to motorists. (In the sense that they slam on their brakes and cause
pile-ups at the intersection AND they rook each working stiff for l00$ fines
and l00$ lost work the day they go fight the ticket and hundreds more on INSURANCE LATER!
Which is why INSURANCE COMPANIES LOVE THOSE RED LIGHTS! And they
have the billions to run a 'hit' on a reporter.
I was in court helping a friend fight one of these tickets when she mentioned to judge how much the City of Long Beach was making on each one of these systems (over $600k/year). The judge said that those numbers could not possibly be correct. She referred him to the letter from the Police Chief to the City Council (submitted as evidence) recommending that they sign the contract for the systems. It stated that they should expect 20 tickets per intersection per day at (if I remember correctly) $87 per ticket to the city (this was prior to the latest increase in the fine). The judge did the math and had to agree with her numbers in spite of objections from the prosecutor. BTW, the two page letter from the Police Chief never once used the word "safety" but about half of it told the Council how much money the city could make. Hmmm. You may have noticed in the previous paragraph that I mentioned a contract. As far as I know every one of these systems in California is operated by a private sector company on contract with the local municipality or county. This literally required the legislature to redefine the word "operate" in order to attempt to make these systems legal (see Vehicle Code 21455.5(c)). In the Long Beach contract the company actually made more per ticket than the city. George Orwell never realized how profitable Big Brother's racket could be.
