  GRAFFITI AS ART was one of my hot tip merchandise predictions placed over a year ago at the TYPICALLY AMERICAN  MERCHANDISE ARTICLE 
  at the FREE ONLINE TRADE SEMINAR

Well I just watched a MODERN ART  documentary shot in PARIS and Germany on the NEW AMERICAN GRAFFITI MOVEMENT which is the nouvelle vogue.. Just  HOW HOT IS IT? Try SIZZLING! 

The film showed the work of "Jon One" which is the stage name of an artist from East Harlem Big Apple, who used to spend  200$ a week on SPRAY PAINT to hit subway cars. And dodge the cops. He now lives in Paris in a glorious loft and  does Graffiti on canvases, gets 15k each! You are familiar with the look of GRAFFITI art, right?

In Paris, Studio 55 exhibits this kind of graffiti. It is very hot now in France and Germany where there is a modernist movement. I always felt the best use would be a product used by the young, the 18-35 group maybe floridly painted all over a product that kids consider necessary, like canvas school bags, back packs as well as purses and totes.

I TOLD the members of my free IMPORT/ EXPORT SEMINAR  on my email LIST that this would be the hottest American product to export to Europe. I got this list by POSTING ADS on  Craigs List org, bringing readers to the TRAINING SEMINAR, which is 100 files free online, a complete instruction for doing import/export/ and mercantilist production of artisanry that is unique and doing it FROM THE FOREIGN END or any AMERICAN CITY. I felt that GRAFFITI was going to be very hot  and especially the type of art work that BASQUIAT did, (image at top,) see Basquiat files by googling on IMAGES, then put in his name.See the FILM on his life, BASQUIAT. Put graffiti art on objects that people carry, bags and the like.

You'd need a school bag manufacturer. They are in China, INDIA working in canvas. They will print that canvas any way that you want. GOOGLE THE WORDS "SCHOOL BAGS" and find a factory in Indonesia or India where they PRINT on them and wholesale for 10$ a piece, then get the art work done there, on each bag or on the TEXTILE they use to make the bag.  Then export finished bags direct from INDIA with no 'manufacturer' name ever on the pckg, to European distributors. The hard thing is getting manufacturer to ship a few dozen to a SHOP or DEPARTMENT store without putting their factory's address ALL OVER  package!This is why SHIPPING AGENTS are needed in your place of manufacture. One small extra salary.

CALIFORNIA kicked off a national NO PLASTIC WASTE trend with its legislation to make paper or plastic grocery bags
cost 25c at cash register so  the "bring your own tote" will be a hot item. Do it with graffiti on the two big canvas sides, to make it modern, trendy, hot. NOUVELLE ITEMS are hot and sell like hotcakes, as the proverb goes. The NYLON FLIP AND TUMBLE is 5$ each, but who wouldn't pay some extra to have graffiti all over it?
 

  SUMMER 2006 ART NEWS magazine (available at big libraries,) has a piece" SPRAYING POWER. that tells us that taggers segued from painting subway cars to having big galleries represent them. There was a show of all these street artists, including DAZE and CRASH. (they were roomates,) and the late Kwame Monroe whose painting titled SUNDAY AFTERNOON is in the magazine. and GOOGLE IMAGE has it too. One of the first dealers to collect graffiti art was Sidney Janis whose heirs showed his collection at BROOKLYN MUSEUM. Writer Rebecca Spence may have followed up on her interest in this movement. Google her and the artists in GOOGLE IMAGES. ART NEWS is the best magazine in the art world. You want to subscribe.
