Do you two know what Giclee even is? The Giclee technique is not a screen print, as no silk screens are involved. It’s a bigger, better color printer than you could buy at the APPLE STORE. The resulting prints therefore have a higher resolution then Lithographs. It is a sophisticated, fine art production, utilizing the digital printer's highest resolution. The dynamic color range is similar to a serigraph. In the Giclee process, a fine stream of ink, with more then 4 million droplets per second, is sprayed into actual canvas (or paper). The result is similar to, but much finer than an Air Brush technique. Each canvas is carefully hand mounted on a drum that rotates during the printing process. Exact calculations of hue, value and density direct the four-inked nozzles. The method created a combination of 512 chromatic changes resulting in over three million possible colors of highly saturated, nontoxic water-based inks. The process offers a protective coating to ensure quality standards for the discriminating art collector.

That last one’s about the printer alternatives that Artists use to create big prints, 4 x 5 feet even. How can adigital printer even approach this size? Must be some factory sized printer.Not needed to sell art in the beginning. 2 feet x 3 is plenty big.

YUROZ a modern artist, does a lot of GICLEES. He is a modern Picasso, (who used the printing press and silk screen to reproduce by the hundred,) But the primary savings is in being a one man assembly line factory.
