ACTIVISM – whether as organized labor making strikes and DEMONSTRATING  to ACHIEVE their demands, or as LIVING ROOM GROUPS grooming WRITERS, DATA-FORWARDING POSTERS like you,  or even as writers doing the simplest Letter to the Editors -- activism is the ONLY THING that will give you back that abundant economy, the wealthy ‘culture’ that your parents enjoyed in the 50’s, -- which the powers that be are trying to take away from us so that they can afford a WORLD OF WAR.

War will not build an economy. What will build that new economy is HUMANITARIAN VALUES. No colonial exploitation and rape of third world poor, no genocide. What is needed here is YOU putting your foot down  and demanding it. NO more WARS on THIRD WORLD CIVILIANS being tarred from the terrorist bucket so that their lifelong aim becomes revenge. SINGLE ACTIVISTS, one man alone say like RALPH NADER, attracts citizen groups and volunteers via his WRITING.  Together they begin coersion of the regulatory agencies. They apprise the world of scandals as did NADER with DETROIT CAR MANUACTURERS via his book "UNSAFE AT ANY SPEED.  Ida Tarbell did with STANDARD OIL and SINCLAIR LEWIS did with the filthy meat industry. All of them, Sinclair, Ida and NADER's raiders achieved REMEDIAL legislation.  Gas Pipe lines exploding. Product safety. Air Pollution and Water tainted. Nuclear reactors leaking. Rivers polluted by industrial waste.3M.  Activists CREATING the EPA IN  WASHINGTON! Then, when EPA was "BOUGHT" fattened with bribes and got PAUNCHY and listless, activists began PRODDING the EPA. Established OSHA and the FFOIA act, laws banning NURSING HOME HORRORS, FLAMMABLE CLOTHING laws. ROUND UP type Pesticide dangers. We never stop to think what activists did.

We  each need to spend an hour a day reading/ posting and teaching to STOP our government from its dimwitted obsession with STEALING THIRD WORLD WEALTH, accomplished through GENOCIDE and a CENTURY OF WAR, ENDLESS BLOODY WAR. Our SQUEAKS OR COMPLAINTS on this issue can do a world of GOOD. ALL the betterments of YOUR life came thru someone brave and loud, picketing, complaining in risky public demonstrations. FEW citizens in USA WILL DO THIS these days 1.) fearing a weekend in jail and a record, 2.) as we are all told TO SHUT UP AND BE GOOD little boys and girls all of our childhoods. All betterments came to us this way. USA LOUDLY complained to FDR during depression and he had to give our ancestors FOOD STAMPS, WELFARE, SOCIAL SECURITY, MEDICARE as a SOUP KITCHEN just wasn't enough. LABOR UNIONS  blockade and threaten the CEO and achieve much for MISUSED WORKERS.

You and I need to achieve a voice, practice using it and teaching others to do the same until we have a GROUP.  An email list of names, a living room group, an activistic group, any way you want to slice it. Without that group voice, based on your PERSONAL voice, you will not see UTOPIA ARRIVE on our shore. The Main reason to give potluck dinner parties for the whole clan, the block, all neighbors in the bldg, all relatives, all at once, like a BLOCK PARTY where you discuss A dramatic PICKET, an open air press conference, is ‘cuz that is how ACTIVISM is worked. It is plugged into fun parties, where groups discuss progressive issues, dream up their concrete demands for benefits useful to the people. “Party” your way to having government protection. So far, we didn’t show up in their budget much. Oh, Cash for clunkers, they did that for a minute. Pay your income tax you get 200$ back and have a baby as a single mother you get welfare if you clean freeways all day but the BANKSTERS got the real billions. You got car payments up the wazoo so they didn’t have to send billions to Detroit. You got   SNOOKERED by your own GOV, which has a dozen cons they can do on you--- to empty you of blood. Wealth. Drain you of your work, time and money and leave your children at square one.

While today's cons are not as lethal as PAST cons, they drain some of the life and time out of you. To see how bad a gov can be, you must trace the past, -- trace the history books! ferinstance, progressive workers ran strikes against industry that got the work week shortened from 80 hours a week, something truly  medieval... back in 1919 to the comfortable 40 hours that workers enjoy today… The early progressives showed up at dangerous Pickets, got attacked by goombas hired by the boss, were screaming activists for righteous demands, went hoarse-throat in ensuing decades demanding  POOR MAN’s MEDICARE -- not just for seniors…but for the marginalized families. Activists got you BENEFITS LIKE PELL GRANTS, STATE GRANTS, SCHOLARSHIPS, restraints against CRUEL BOSSES, OSHA LAWS, LESS TAXES, LESS LICENSING FEES. Food stamps, SEcTION 8 housing, health benefits, counseling. Democracy (write that 'activists' FREEDOM OF SPEECH) has secured you IF NOT the GOOD LIFE than a BETTER LIFE.

The upward mobility of the lower classes in the last 100 years has turned out to be the perfect argument against Social Darwinism i.e. “I got mine, now you peons JUST TRY to get yours,” -- which along with "TAKE TRICKLEDOWN, DUMMIE" is the elite Republican battle cry. LIBERALS carve out the future, proving God didn't make no junk. ANYBODY can evolve given the education and food and medical care. But there is one group that didn't want it that way. Elitists. Conservatives. REPUBLICANS!

WHAT ACTIVISTS GAVE TO YOU AND ME ---which WE probably TAKE FOR GRANTED TODAY was written up in an article I found online,  (seriously rewritten by me). HERE IT IS.

Joe The Republican gets up at 6:00 a.m. to prepare his morning coffee. He can fill his pot full of good clean drinking water ONLY because some liberal fought for minimum water quality standards. He takes his daily medication with his first swallow of coffee. His medications are safe to take because some liberal fought to insure their safety and effect as advertised.

All but $10.00 of his medications are paid for by his employer’s medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance. Now Joe gets it too. He prepares his breakfast—bacon and eggs today. Joe’s bacon is safe to eat because some liberal fought for laws to regulate the meatpacking industry.

Joe takes his shower, reaching for his shampoo. His bottle is properly labeled with every ingredient and the amount of its contents because some liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained. Joe dresses, walks outside and take a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some tree-hugging liberal fought for laws to stop industries from polluting our air. He walks to the subway station for his government-subsidized ride to work; it saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees. You see, some liberal fought for affordable public transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a contributor.

Joe begins his work day. He has a good job with excellent pay, medical benefits, retirement, paid holidays, and vacation because some liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Joe’s employer pays these standards because Joe’s employer doesn’t want his employees to call the union. If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed he’ll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because some liberal didn’t think he should lose his home because of his temporary misfortune.

It’s noontime. Joe needs to make a bank deposit so he can pay some bills. Joe’s deposit is federally insured by the FSLIC and FDIC because some liberal wanted to protect Joe’s money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the Depression.

Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae-underwritten mortgage and his below-market federal student loan because some stupid liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his lifetime.

Joe is home from work. He plans to visit his father tonight at his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive to Dad’s.His car is among the safest in the world because some liberal fought for car safety standards. He arrives at his boyhood home. He was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers Home Administration because bankers didn’t want to make rural loans. He house didn’t have electricity until some big government liberal stuck his nose where it didn’t belong and demanded rural electrification.
Joe is happy to see his dad who is now retired. His dad lives on Social Security and his union pension because some liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn’t have to. After his visit with dad he gets back in his car for the ride home.

He turns on a radio talk show, and the host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. (He doesn’t tell the audience that Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day). Joe agrees. “We don’t need those liberals with their bloated governments ruining our lives. After all, I’m a self-made man who believes everyone should take of themselves, just like I always have. I’m voting for the conservative who was bought and paid for by the oligarch and the corporation as that candidate tells me he’ll cut taxes.” Never once realizing that everything good that is in his life today was fought for by liberals and conservatives tried their hardest to make it impossible.

Isn’t that a lovely piece? My thoughts: Karl Marx said that this eternal battle between LIBERALS demanding MORE from the rich and RIGHT WING, who run the machine for their own profit is a “dialectic” -- TWO contrary pressures, fighting one another, both needed. GOOD people don’t get to be GOOD if they don’t use their muscles to fight darkness, selfishness, oligarchs… scrambling for what they believe in. Liberals fight for the workers against fascists and oligarchs to get incremental tiny benefits.... hammering their way from Eden to The Fall then back to Utopia.

Oligarchs try to convince a few propertied middle class voters that they have to join them, fight the sweaty hoardes of invading third worlders, vote the GOP ticket, battle some dark, dirty force, and they have conscripted a lot of groups. Religious right. Anti-Tax libertarians who hear COMMIE as a buzzword. Even blacks.

We are a species in transit ....and each one of us in our lifetime willhave to grab the throats of the evildoers, the ungiving Planetary Overlords .. the oligarchs, 14 families, the REPUBLICAN LEADERS and threaten holy Hell.

These oligarchs are not the duped REPUBLICAN voters, it’s the PROPAGANDA purveying GOP/MILITARY and corporate types (tied together for strength, like Fascia Mussolini noted, or sticks. A single stick breaks, not a few tied together.) And tied together, they unctuously wrap themselves in the flag, spout patriotic slogans and edge the populace on to sanction war. They diddle us with bread, circuses, corrupt tv, sports, then talk shows that have bought talking heads who enrage us into war. How many gas eating SUVS wear flags while BUSH and cie. Kill BABIES here and abroad. They play us like lutes!

SOME FORCE is PLAYING THRU us when we succumb to injected patriotism and we foam for war. We cry to kill terrorists in Afghanistan or Iraq when the original l9 were Egyptians and Saudis who lived in Hamburg and were trained to fly in FLORIDA. Why didn’t we bomb FLORIDA then? The reason we’re in AFGHANISTAN is so USA can set up and OWN the oil pipeline from THE "STANS" and other lapsed satellites like CRIMEA AND UKRAINE -- all in Putin's underbelly in Southern Russia and DODGE PUTIN's ICED UP PORTS& BEACHES, an area which has no year round warm harbors for trade. There’s a cui bonum for oil corps and our as we TOY WITH OIL PRICES, RUSSIA's OIL BIZ is injured by out GI's are paying with blood and we took out a million Muslims for no good reason. CHARLIE WILSON's WAR. Dreamt up

Again and again, we succumb to PROPAGANDA and gilded tinsel promises not worth the base metal they were painted on. WE must resist the temptation to believe those foolish lies that only by being born again will we go to heaven. We must remember, we are already divine. We are liberals and we must keep on keeping on—in the battle for our rights vis a vis the planetary oligarchs, their insults to our ecology, workplace and air. We must fight for more than hybrid cars, a no gas car as PETROLEUM deposits are finished. THERE isn’t enough oil left for a few years of running those SUVS. We must fight for decent salaries but until we have them, for AFDC, foodstamps. We must step lively to be on top of every INSULT, injury and planned stratagem of the monarchs by learning to work the media so that even Baptist dummies fulminate against nasty Muslims and vote the straight GOP party!

Get the PUBLIC RELATIONS master list of every fax, email, phone of every media person across the planet. Someone sent me this immense list for P.R. purposes.  It's somewhere on my hard drive. Ask me for it.

IF these greedy politicos are going to pork barrel our tax money to their war toy chums, and commandeer the government JEFFERSON and FRANKLIN designed for OUR PROTECTION which we PAID FOR I MIGHT ADD... they DESERVE their chin hairs FULL of us, like fleas .. their offices and faxes full of radicals, forced to hear our demands, watch our pickets on TV, our million man marches. Nixon used to cringe in the Oval Office when we picketed outside on Pennsylvania Avenue about the war. And it worked.

I just read a brand new article that said the reason our soldiers in Nam killed so many villages full of civilians down to the last granny and child was that they didn’t see anybody else out there in the jungle. THEY THOUGHT it was the villagers! NOW it turns out that there were five layers of condo-tunnels under ground and thousands of soldiers lived there, could come out at night, do things, then disappear and hide in their rat holes. That’s why GI’s killed Nam civilians. Mei Lais everywhere driving our soldiers literally nuts. Confounded, THEY did a decade of CIVILIAN GENOCIDE as misguided as WMD in IRAQ and our killing l00 k IRAQUIS, their killing 1,000 of us.
