This document on DIAGNOSING what's wrong with your puss from her symtoms (and it's COMPANION piece, HERBS THAT HEAL PETS ---) will aid you in quickly recognizing a cat's specific disease. RECOGNIZE YOUR CULPRIT when the disease is in early, not advanced stages. THEN the progress of malady can be HALTED! To heal anything, you want to start showering the first symptoms with herbal and dietary remedies before the condition grows and wreaks havoc on many other body systems, before it spreads, gets dire, closes down other systems. PERSIUS a doctor who lived in the first century A.D. said "Meet disease at its first stage." Never more true than with a cat ...who is a delicate fellow in comparison to dogs or humans. The same with humans. News show recently told of statistic in USA. Approximately 2 children die in every state each year, of FLU. When flu strikes a child, you need viricidal remedies instantly, at first symtom. Aspirin is not a remedy. Fever is primary attempt at knocking out viruses, healing done by the body.

Anemia

Pallor, wasting, bad fur but as cat has fur that covers its skininess, you can only see it one place: pale lips, gums, tongue. You will maybe see physical weakness-wasting-susceptibility to other conditions-fast pulse- fast breathing, typical blood changes as seen in smears-deficiency anemia of various types eg. cats fed only on milk develop iron deficiency anemia. DIETARY CURE: High iron raw minced cow liver. Or get the livers out of your whole chickens, or use young beef, calves liver or try BEEF LIVER also, higher still in iron. Fry the slab lightly in butter, leaving it fairly raw inside. Cut well, toss in the frying pan one more time, I sprinkle everything with a little garlic powder. Feed this to cat every few days.  As all liver has its toxic, taxing side, we d not feed at every meal, and not every day. Just once every three days. Or once a week. Cats like liver. I do too, with fried onions, and always leave center fairly red. Do the same meal for humans with an anemic look. WHO KNEW? LIVER! George Bernard Shaw took liver powder, though a total vegan. Lived to nearly l00. NOW, many parasites either in the cat or on his fur can suck his blood provoking anemia So when puss is well, do a parasite cure! Herbal vermicides do now but if vet gives chemical ones, best wait til he's stronger, has PINK GUMS to do that!

BOIL
Symptoms; Big big ball on skin, egg shaped, filled with pussy liquid. Now, if you want worst case scenario, a lump that was very slow to appear is probably a cancer tumor. They will come near the site of the rabies injection. Read what JEFF SAID "  Today my most beloved friend and teacher, little Precious passed on . She was born on my bed 10 years ago, and had never  been sick a day in her life, until  3 or 4 weeks after her rabies vaccine,  a large malignant tumor appeared on her side. Within one week, her father developed a small lump in almost the same place on the opposite side, along with the same abdominal pain, arthritis, and mental depression. Since both were happy, spry, and had never been sick a day in their lives, and since 3 or 4 weeks is the precise time it takes for most rabies vaccine reactions to occur, it appears obvious that the rabies vaccines killed Precious, and is now attacking Lucky. The most common symptoms from rabies shots are tumors, abdominal pain, arthritis, bleeding, depression and Precious bled too death in the end" Google "dogs, rabies vaccine, tumors" This dog should never have been vaccinated. NO DOG should. No cat. Don't let city force you into licenses that require vaccines.Jeff could have escaped it as he lived in an RV with his animals and no address at all.

The more likely scenario with a fast to appear lump is a boil  That will be pus, white blood cells being eliminated, and this is a very healthy process. Where the body is producing PUS, it is cleaning itself! SO not to worry. The cat could have experienced a wound a cut to skin which got infected, but more likely he is just getting rid of INNER PUS from some internal inflammation. THERE Is an infection or inflammation somewhere within. This infection may have come from cuts to skin if it is a TOMCAT who fights, or if RACOON got to it, but it can be from THE MANY PUS DISEASES cats get, lung area mostly. And that pus can be from inside of body, mucusy lungs or glands. HUMANS do not expell lung pus with a boil, cats DO! And not to worry, none of it is a problem.

HEALING PROTOCOL: THE ONLY DISEASE where we do not have to hurry the cure. This isn't gonna hurt the pet being that it's a body-cleansing maneuver invented by Mother Nature so we can take our time.  We steam the boil ball with long, hot poultices, using a towel that we dip in a pan of very very hot water.. THE TOWEL WAD cools fast, perhaps in 15 seconds, so keep water hot, maybe on a low flame. Keep resoaking the towel. ALWAYS test on you wrist first to make certain you do not give cat a first degree burn. Test, place, hold. Pet his head and speak softly, gently to him.  After a few days of this steaming three times a day (up to ten times a day,) boil will come to a head. The skin becomes pink, then clear as the skin becomes utterly thin. At this point, if cat is left in the living room, it might burst on the sofa! So confine cat to room with no upholstered furniture. Give her a carpet that is HER OWN, which is small, washable. She can have friends with her. When it blows, a cup of pus will come out. PUS does not stain, but it's a mess....so what I do is, I do another steam treatment and I push on both sides and break the boil into a sterile towel. (Fresh off the line, sterile from sunlight!) Squeeze flesh on all sides so all the pus emerges. Let it drain for an hour. You can then squeeze area gently again. If it is draining clear, use an herbal SEALANT! What is that? By now you should have made a few oz of CALENDULA tincture with petals of these common yellow flowers. Or get it at healthfood store. Or pick petals, smash them. Place wad of petals on wound, tape over it. This petal absolutely seals the wound and allows no drainage. So only do it when wound has finished secreting pus. SECONDARY HEALING involves the lung if the boil was near it, seeking to stop any inflammatory disease within that may be inside leaking all these white corpuscles to skin surface. Diarrhea
Enteritis (apart from  Panleucopaenia) Often associated with  gastritis- vomiting- scouring- temperature- dehydration- weakness- pain- bacterial. TREATMENT: HYDRAGE! CAT has that wan look and that skinny muzzle (no cheeks) as he loses his body liquids YIPES! HYDRATE HIM! TREAT the VIRUS with garlic, other viricidal or bacteriacidal herbs but meanwhile, get on the stick and TREAT the dehydration! Vet will give you a RINGER bag with a set of needles. HANG bag in shower off bath towel rack or shower curtain pole so that the tubing carries the liquid down to needle by gravity. Grab small bit of skin/fur at back of spine. Insert needle tip into this fold you have in your fingers, UNDER fur, don't worry he can't even feel it. The tip of needle injects the liquid into this space between fur and his body and it is absorbed! RINGER bag has the body liquid in sterile form. Use eye dropper to put water in his throat but ASPIRATED WATER is really bad for lungs, so go slow! Make certain you see him swallowing! Don't just slide water in so that he is inhaling it! Because that WILL kill him!

Feline infectious anemia
Lack of appetite-wasting-anemia-malaise-depression. What you most often see is pale lips, tongue, gums. Easy to diagnose. A cat with some other disease frequently can show this body weakness with pallid mucous membranes- pallid tongue- Enlarged palpable spleen-recovery of Haemobartonella on blood smear but only a pro could spot that. SO, pallid GUMS? IMMEDIATELY get livers out of chickens, or young beef, fry lightly in butter, leaving it raw inside. Cut well, give to cat when hungry. They like it. Do same for humans with anemic look. LIVER! George Bernard Shaw took liver powder, though a total vegan. Lived to nearly l00.

Leucaemia
Wasting-anemia-depression-slow death-excess leucocytes on smear examination and white cell counts. Give raw meat only, grate all kinds of vegies into it and raw garlic. Helping immune sys kick in can back off anything.

LYMPH GLANDS SWOLLEN -Palpate throat under jaw. If there are two balls there, that's swollen lymph glands. CAUSE is bacteria in system. CURE: Give small amts powdered Vit C, ascorbic acid, in water with viricides like garlic, tumeric, olive leaf extract. Bacteriacides like Melia gall slices*. Gently do lymph massage, stroking downward. Banish phony cat foods, kibbles, give real meat and vegies seasoned wi. slight amts. fresh, raw squeezed garlic.*  CHINABERRY or PERSIAN LILAC or Melia azederach A  tree closely related to the Neem tree- Azadirachta indica but easier to grow in our temperate climate. Leaves, bark and seed contain insecticidal and anti-fungal properties. Seeds are poisonous so use with a light hand. Grow in a pot indoors in the winter and outside in the summer. Tree gets a big tumor on it where the medicinal properties concentrate. I'll give you all the seed you want.You can use it for teas.

Worm infestation
Recovery of worm eggs on worm egg examination-recovery of worms from litter examination done with magnifier. Causes scruffy ugly fur as they have.anemia-  wasting- failure to thrive or failure to develop PROTOCOL: Take a quarter cup pumpkin seeds, soak for a few hours so they come alive, throw as is into blender jar, grind with spring water, crush a clove of garlic into it and let this mess sit overnight. Strain into Gerbers jar, keep in fridge. Make new every three days. Get that natural piparazine liquid into the cat as often as you can. OTHER things, ENGLISH WALNUT OR BLACK WALNUT. Take big green nut fruit, when green, in AUGUST, With rubber gloves (it stains,) cut the meat off outer husk in little slices, into food grade alcohol, vodka, brandy if not for immediate use but lemon/water if you want to make fresh every few days. Let sit overnight.  Water turns black. POTENT and should be used in next few days if lemon/water. Alcohol version keeps a year. Black walnut kills parasites. But to make a permanent lasting bottle of it, you have to use vodka which has SHELF LIFE lemon does NOT.. POMEGRANATE BARK works but who wants to harm a pomegrante tree? Not I.. GOOGLE VERMIFUGES as there are plenty of herbs that kill worms. ARTEMESIA is one. WORMWOOD it's often called. GARLIC cloves, pumpkin seeds, easy to get once a year, dry a big bag of them, get your pals to save them for you. Keep in fridge drawer dry, grind into protein drinks, let sit then strain. Doesn't keep, so make enuf for a few days then start over.

External parasites
Severe external parasitic infestation. Most often Fleas. Easy to fix, fill both basins of kitchen or bath wi.warm water, soap him up in one sink, rinse a few times, soap some more, he's swimming on his back, pick fleas off tummy, drop bugs in other sink full of hot soapy water so flea dies. Otherwise, if he's in cat's basin, flea swims right back on cat. Towel pet dry, pick off fleas in sun, where they shine like copper pennies and you can see them even on a black cat. Crack them between two thumb nails. If cold weather, baths are less adviseable unless you totally heat the room, towel dry then use a hair dryer to totally blow dry the fur. EVEN then, do not return him to house. He stays in a warm room for an hour. No sudden temperature changes.

LARVAE IN SKIN - Cats with festering wounds who run around outdoors frequently have little worms in the gash. Flies have laid larvae in the wound. Actually these will eat dead flesh, clean off dead skin so ugly as they may be they aren't going to hurt the cat. We remove them as they are repugnant. Make a garlic, calendula, lemon olive oil 'dressing,' apply topically with a cotton swab wrapped around a stick. I use hyacinth sticks from garden supply, (used to make flowers stand up erect, not fall over,). Thicker than a qtip. I make my own q tips with them. (I also Clean cat ears of mites with a mixture of things that earmites hate: black walnut flesh (taken while nut is green,) garlic, lemon, teatree oil, neem oil, (Indian markets have these two). I use clean Cottonswab to see if ear has black residues of the mite poop. If it does, then next cotton swab has the toxic mix. NOT TOXIC TO CATS by the way!) We ourselves would do well to take a good parasite cure if we've eaten much sushi, had years of pets licking us, our eating after we've touched their fur, etc. The half cooked burger gets on spatula, the fully cooked one being removed or lifted can become infected with parasites.

Toxoplasmosis
Anemia-dehydration-enlarged liver, spleen-white areas 1-3mm in spleen-respiratory distress-recovery of toxoplasms

Constipation
Very dried hard feces in the litter box. Evidence of faeces in intestinal tract. Depression-failure to thrive-history of predisposing cause such as pelvic injuries, rickets, osteodystrophy, very dried hard feces in the litter box.CURE: Stop all kibble as that's the most likely cause. If constipation continues, quit all canned meat. Give Raw meat, raw milk, never together. Separately. Three hours minimum between them. Grate carrots into meat, just 3%. Resume cooked meat slowly adding greens, collards, kale, swiss chard. YOGURT regularly for cats who tend toward constipation.

Nephritis
Common KIDNEY disease of aged cats-urolithiasis or sabulous deposits-increased thirst-decreased appetite-loss of weight-depression-vomiting-changes in urine on testing-pain on palpation of kidney area-uraemic smell in breath-third eyelid across eye-eye dull and glazed-ulcerations in mouth and tongue and LOSS OF APPETITE as kidney problems make you toxic and you lose appetite! NAUSEA ensues! PROTOCOL: herb uva ursi in tisane, corn silk tea in tisane, give instead of drinking water. Diruetic. Massage kidney area. READ what ONE OWNER SAYS: "Pharoah had urinary problems since he was a baby (2 months). Bloody
urine. Constant URINARY infections. When he was sick I used these homeopathic items in combinations or alone: zinc, Acidophilus, chewable protein, nettle leaves, cranberry, green barley grass, dandelion root, oregon grape root, milk thistle, beet leaf, fennel seed. When he was really bad I used silver hydrosol & cantharis 30x and fish oil. All of which combined with raw foods including pumpkin or squash, carrots beans etc. Pharoah lived 9 years with this on/off condition.  TISANE: Virtually a tea or infusion. Pour nearly boiling water over herbs, let steep 15 min, covered. Strain into jar. Fridge or just serve as drinking water. WE DO NOT BOIL or even simmer herbs. Do massage over kidney area. AVOID meats that are salted, turkeys are all salted at the factory. Ditto weenies and all kinds of deli meats.

Nervous

History of kittening and/or large litter-nervousness-spasms-convulsions-inco-ordination-stiffness of gait-sometimes vomiting-temperature raised, later lowered-dilated pupils-dry cornea-dry mucous membranes-death if unrelieved

Feline Encephalomyelitis
Ataxia-swaying and circling motions of the head-sometimes paralysis of  hindquarters-falling to one side or the other-twisting-demyelination in brain, medulla and spinal cord. I've seen cats live thru it, have minor clumsiness rest of their long lives.

Tetanus
Rare condition-prostration-extensor contraction-tail drawn back over body-opisthotonos-lockjaw-extension of third eyelid over eye. Use the gall of a melia tree, slice pieces off it, simmer 15 min. Google 'holistic' with 'tetanus' and you'll see the herbal formula.

Poisonings
Strychnine poisoning, lead poisoning, dieldrin, D.D.T. poisoning, B.H.C.(or
hexachlorobenzene) poisoning, rodent poisons and, in fact, a very great number
of poisons which affect the nervous system may all produce convulsions in
cats-chemical analysis-suggestive history-characteristic lesions of the particular
poison - Instantly give healthfood store charcoal. Gotta catch this one FAST.

Uremia
Evidence of nephritis-vomiting-wasting-albumin in urine-general symptoms uremia DIETARY CURE: uva ursi, corn silk as drinking water.

Tapeworm infestation
Diarrhea-vomiting-nervous symptoms-convulsions-sometimes loss ofsight-tapeworm up to 60cm bell-shaped segments so put on your glasses, take a magnifier and SCOOT MR Puss OUT OF the LITTER box before he buries his waste in sand. Cough, Breathlessness Feline "Flu" Mucous discharge from nose  and eyes  photophobia- dislike of bright light, sneezing-coughing-sinusitis-pinkish-grey consolidation of lungs-mucus exudates in respiratory tract-long course

Feline pneumonia
Including feline `flu and pneumonia from other causes like mycoplasma, -see Feline `Flu. ANTI-VIRALS like olive leaf extract, echinecea, tumeric, garlic ascorbic acid, powdered Vit C, from COSTCO pharmacy, all work. As for feline 'flu-paroxysms of sneezing-may be feline 'flu - May be microbial, in which case melia gall, sliced, simmered 15 min over low heat into bitter medicine, bacteriacidal. If disease is viral try IMMUNE SYSTEM ENHANCING with a better diet. If it's a spore like mycoplasma which is neither bacteria or virus but a SPORE, give tetracycline or minocyline, very easy to handle, no side effects.  DIETARY CURE: Give no commercial catfood,no kibble. Simmer chicken with carrots, collards, kale, swisschard, greens with no oxalic acid which SPINACH has, rendering it unsuitable. Discard skin of bird, mince meat wi. vegies. Broth is fine as drinking water, but must be fridged overnight, so that all fat rises to top and can easily be skimmed off. TETRACYCLINE OR MINOCYCLINE are best if you suspect MCYOPLASMA which has a fetid aroma if you lean close to cat and sniff his face. HIghly contagious if he sneezes at you.

Mycotic Pneumonia (Aspergillosis)
Similar to feline `flu - As for feline 'flu-paroxysms of sneezing-may be feline 'flu - May be microbial, viral or the spore of mycoplasma which is neither, it's a spore. Tetracycline and Minocycline work very well and are recommended way to handle mycoplasma but cannot be old, outdated as this one antibiotic gets toxic when it's old. Give germ killers like echinecea, garlic, olive leaf extract from healthfood store, tumeric, vit C, ascorbic acid in the food. (Powder, or smash VIT C pills with hammer, dissolve.) DIETARY CURE: Give no commercial catfood,no kibble. Simmer chicken with carrots, collards, kale, swisschard, greens with no oxalic acid which SPINACH has, rendering it unsuitable. Discard skin of bird, mince meat wi. vegies. Broth is fine as drinking water, but must be fridged overnight, so that all fat rises to top and can easily be skimmed off. Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis
As for feline 'flu-paroxysms of sneezing-may be feline 'flu - May be microbial, viral or the spore of mycoplasma which is neither. Give olive leaf extract from healthfood store, tumeric, vit C, ascorbic acid in the food. (Powder, or smash VIT C pills with hammer, dissolve or buy powdered variety, buffered is good) DIETARY CURE: Give no commercial catfood, no kibble. Simmer chicken with carrots, collards, kale, swiss chard, greens with no oxalic acid which SPINACH has, rendering it unsuitable. Discard skin of bird, mince meat wi. vegies. Feline Bronchitis
Similar to feline 'flu-persistent coughing, eye exudes, swollen throat glands. May be microbial, viral or the spore of mycoplasma which is neither. Give olive leaf extract from healthfood store, tumeric, vit C, ascorbic acid in the food. (Powder, or smash VIT C pills with hammer, dissolve.) DIETARY CURE: Give no commercial catfood,no kibble. Simmer chicken with carrots, collards, kale, swisschard, greens with no oxalic acid which SPINACH has, rendering it unsuitable. Discard skin of bird, mince meat wi. vegies. Broth is fine as drinkign water, but must be fridged overnight, all fat skimmed off.

Gastritis
Vomiting-wasting-pain on palpation over gastric are. Herbal tisanes

Tuberculosis
Rare condition-wasting-coughing-scouring-tubercular lesions on postmortem

Pulmonary Edema
History of funnel web spider bite-cyanosis-death-other history, smoke, irritants,
etc.-or evidence of anaphylaxis or sensitization

Lungworm and Tracheal worm
Presence of Aelurostrongylus abstrusus in the lung or Capillaria aerophila in
the trachea-coughing, emaciation-nasal discharge-dyspnoea, anemia, harsh
coat

Toxoplasmosis
Respiratory distress-anemia-enlarged liver-consolidated lungs-recovery of
toxoplasms A VIRUS.

Jaundice Anemia
See text-pallor-weakness-wasting-susceptibility to other conditions-fast
pulse-typical blood changes as seen in smears. Give liver cleansing tisanes.

Toxic Hepatitis
Dullness, depression-vomiting-diarrhea alternately with
constipation-jaundice-increased thirst sometimes convulsions-histological
confirmation liver tissue-history of toxins eaten or bacterial or viral toxic action

Feline Infectious Anemia
Pasteurella pseudo-tuberculosis-P.multocida-Salmonella typhimurium-all recorded in Australia to produce jaundice

Bacterial infections
High temperature, severe depression, jaundice. Melia gall, sliced, simmer 15 min low heat is bacteriacidal. Garlic is also. Vit C.

Leptospirosis
No temperature, high faecal worm egg count, indigestion and abdominal pain, jaundice
