ABANDONWARE  --- i.e. SOFTWARE ORPHANS LOOKING FOR A GOOD HOME!

For two decades, all over the planet, software that was born happy, gurgling and cooing, genetically perfect, hoping to find a permanent hard drive to occupy and loving PC users to care for them, have been ABANDONED. It had nothing to do with worth. A lot of the best software ever made just got lost in the flurry of competition. The corps went out of business. NETSCAPE BROWSER was one superb PIECE OF SOFTWARE. A COMPLETE browser with HTM COMPOSER, and an EMAIL CLIENT BEYOND ANY OTHER. AN ADDRESS BOOK with features NO OTHER WILL EVER HAVE. UNPARALLELED.  Today no runty EMAIL CLIENT around touches it. SEAMONKEY its HTM COMPOSER IS JUST AS GOOD as Netscape's COMPOSER. You can get SEAMONKEY free online. You can GET Netscape if you have a WIN 98 PC still alive, copies of Vers 4.75 are kept by these CNET type online museums.

But a software you all would want which IS STILL AROUND is  ZTREE which once in 1990 was XTREE, a fabulous FILE MANAGER. Xtree went out of business so KIM HENKEL reissued it, better. You can use it for free for 30 days. Go to ZTREE.COM. Download it, very tiny, less than a million bytes. So HENKEL just adopted an orphan but it's kinda grown up into STEVE JOBS so get a copy of the best FILE EDITOR OUT THERE.

You can also adopt abandoned software, give them a good home. Dan the Man (lives in UTAH, off the grid, very private but ask me for his email addie,) sells used software. He puts them on a CD and you pay very little. Simply go to EBAY and hit SOFTWARE and find those vendors. I'm glad he stays online.  Clients always remember you and come back.. Dan sells orphaned floppies and CD's full of used software. And game software always Software with beautiful DNA, Copies of the big guys stuff. ABANDONWARE it's called. (Again, ask me for his email addie) Always tell him what vers. of WINDOWS you have, I now have TEN so cannot use the stuff I used with WIN7.

YOU WILL NEED some HTM software that is "EZ-USE" necessary if you write articles like Momma here. 7 THOUSAND WEBPAGES LIST.  WROTE THE SECRET OF SNEAKING UP ON REAL WEALTH, 7,000 classrooms, you can DOWNLOAD any and republish. OR ALL. Attract AD REVENUE to your WEBSITE. Most written in Microsoft OFFICE 1997 which was SKINNY on coding which I like. After 2000, the GBATES SOFTWARE coding got byte intensive DOUBLING the file size! SOMEONE TOLD ME TO GET a good website design software like COFFEE CUP.  I was  NOT intuitive enough to figure out its non intuitive use. WENT TO SEA MONKEY the BEST AND TOTALLY FREE. DOWNLOAD it in seconds.

But BACK WHEN ---ALL my pages were designed with a good old 1995 browser, like NETSCAPE vers 4.7 which had a COMPOSER and FAB EMAIL CLIENT... it's probably still online, free and can be downloaded for a win 98 machine, and up to XP. Now I have WIN 10 on a 2016 DELL PC so I USE SEAMONKEY, download FREE ONLINE and that's JUST LIKE NETSCAPE and is all I use to design my websites as it has editing for HTM so similar to that MARVELOUS ONE, EVEN today there is NONE BETTER, True, VINTAGE NETSCAPE COMPOSER.

I USED to always recommend MICROSOFT OFFICE l997 as being better than more RECENT versions as it's not so code heavy. It looks great online.  For years I did all my web pages with it. But the new net won't deal with it as SOFTWARE though ALL pages and SITES BUILT WITH IT ARE INTACT.

AN EARTHLINK HOSTED "FREEBIE" site was the FIRST I ever had. One of the "Freebie" websites that Earthlink gives its subscriber... They USED TO give you TEN free websites when you signed up with them -- as a server.  40$ a month but I only got 3 free ones and those only 10 megs each, used them 22 years but they just warned us they are KILLING THE LIGHTS APRIL FOOLS DAY 2020  so I do not LIKE THEM AT ALL but they are still the SERVER I'm stuck with for life as they gave me the EMAIL ADDIE ASTROLOGY AT EARTHLINK DOT NET. ( !) I can't abandon it. ORPHAN MY OWN NAME? NO WAY!
 
(Note the way the sites are written, the freebies at EARTHLINK were INTRICATE AND USELESS, not ASTROLADY DOT COM which FOLKS CAN REMEMBER.... but the lackluster    http://home.earthlink.net/~astrology --- IOW, they are not  true domain names, but it worked for me as:

a.) I was raising four kids, not made of money. I was GLAD that My 4 EARTHLINK SITES cost me nothing a month (being free with signup) but TEN MEGS EACH is miniscule.
b.) I put ads up at Craigs list in order to get readers. I GAVE them the URL so they'd just have to click if interested in FREE SEMINARS, FREE INSTRUCTION MANUALS like MARRIAGE 101, WEALTH 101  PLUS I targeted the show biz section to catch ladies as they fell out of their STRIPPING job for my HOW TO QUIT HOT GUYS, MARRY A BILLIONAIRE and DO GOOD FOR THE WORLD WITH HIS MONEY  --120 classrooms on that theme at QUIT ACTING/ MODELLING FIND LUCK IN LOVE. And MY "HOW TO START YOUR OWN WEBSITE AND HAVE A CAREER." That last one is where I USED to recommend  EARTHLINK as a server if you're broke, cuz they USED to give you up to ten websites, free. Ten megs each. BUT THEY TURNED THEM OFF leaving ME with 35 million bytes full of EARTHLINK LIVE LINKS NOW DEAD. Wanna take a HIT JOB?  OR better yet, know a class action lawyer? MILLIONS of us had our writing careers aborted.

I'm into deals, sales, things cheap, used or free. So go online, google up the abandonware word or used software or go to EBAY and get vintage web site design software. Find  Dan the Man used to have it but WINDOWS made all OLD PROGRAMS OBSOLETE unless you have OLD PC's. CURIOSITIES as he has. He also teaches. A PC GURU always at the ready. Two very important things.  Lot of freeware online already that's what I always do to get a good TEXT EDITOR.. That is so important. See HOW YOU WILL USE your TEXT SAVING SKILLS DAILY!

ON some 'USED SOFTWARE VENDORS' web pages, you'll see HARD WARE TOO-- , many early 70's  PC's. I have kept PC's in the garage from the year 1984, if I remember right. I could open a museum. Dan probably collects ancient PCs too; I know he has game ware. THE MUSEUM OF GAMES. All in his store in IDAHO where Dan lives. Give us another reason to visit the Spud State.ANOTHER? HUH? IS THERE EVEN ONE REASON???
