BLACK MARKET ECONOMIES GROW WORLDWIDE!
FREE ENTERPRISE IS ALIVE AND WELL!

In California, the hoops an entrepreneur must leap through to start a new business cost the boss HUGE LICENSING FEES, HUGE costs getting his tax number and license to 'resell' called RESALE status, plus 9k per employee. And massive amts of money on diddly squat like putting notices of incorporation in newspapers. No wonder that businesses FAIL in California. State greed rots everything it touches. When the rotten capitalism melon falls in, a few smart entrepreneur and worker ants will stand clear! The GENIUSES will run for their spoons. That means that they will enter the black market unafraid of the mushy mess, find artisanry which they can do,  a PRODUCT or a service-- they will make their booth at farmers' markets, swap meets, parking lots, public parks, on the avenue and sell (or at times, barter) up a non-fiched cash storm. Something that SEIZES the market, is the next  RAGE. That means they will manufacture something, something UNIQUE AND HOT .. catch something desirable and edible like crayfish, clams or fish, grow edible stuff or hunt tasty meats  and sell their home-smoked goods for top dollar. (with a smoker in their back yard and a subscription list, people in the neighborhood or a few small charcuterie shops. They will do all this in a non fiched manner. No receipts, no biz cards. As our economy collapses and jobs disappear, any one of us might become part of the 'shadow' economy. Never say never. Just store this information or this file away for a rainy day.

You won't be alone. THE GOOD NEWS IS IN! Average shadow economy 16.7% of GDP in major nations;  38% in developing nations. That translates to four out of ten of you make money and don't report it! You launder it! You feed your kids with it. You pay your landlord cash with it. The good thing is this money doesn't go to buy drones or bombs to kill third world civilians. It doesn't go for despots to buy rifles to massacre thousands of their own people. It doesn't go for Endless War in Arabic countries. It goes into your community. Your pies trade for HIS SANDALS. Your paintings for their hand knit sweaters. Or, the other way around, YOU KNIT?  You can give classrooms at the local church. You cook? You create SINGLES parties or paid potlucks there for the community. A parson is worth his weight in gold as his VENUE is one we all feel good in.A non-denominational singles party at a church does very well.

Abstract: Using the currency demand, estimates are presented about the size of the shadow economy in 22 Transition and 21 OECD countries. ( Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. IS Australia and Europe)

Over 2001/2002 in 21 OECD countries is the average size of the shadow economy (in percent of official GDP) 16.7% of "official" GDP and of 22 Transition countries 38.0%.

The average size of the shadow economy labor force (in percent of the population of working age) of the year 1998/99 in 7 OECD-countries is 15.3% and in 22 Transition countries is 30.2%.

An increasing burden of taxation and social security contributions combined
with rising state regulatory activities are the driving forces for the
growth and size of the shadow economy (labor force).
