MAX BAUCUS, THE  HMO INDUSTRY POINT MAN IN CONGRESS !

Dictionary Definition of 'Slime'. n. ( See above. )

I guess I'm politically naive--I don't understand how a Senator who has taken great wads of cash from the health industry over the years can be the chairman of a committee that is charged with reform of the same industry. This is from the Democracy Now website: "Last month, the Montana Standard (a bite from his own state, btw) reported Senator Max Baucus has received more campaign money from health and insurance industry interests than any other member of Congress. SHAME ON AMERICA!

In the past six years, nearly one-fourth of every dime raised by Baucus and his political-action committee has come from groups and individuals associated with drug companies, insurers, hospitals, medical-supply firms, health-service companies and other health professionals." SHAME ON AMERICA!

A little too cozy, don't you think? I just watched the political satire Bulworth, which is laugh-out-loud funny, and as relevant today as when it was made, in '98. As the writer and director (as well as the lead actor), Warren Beatty makes the very pointed connection between politicians and how they're bought by (amongst others) insurance companies, which is also directly related to the ending (which I won't give away!). If you haven't seen it, do. As for the ending of America's health care system? Well the BAUCUS BILL will cost just a hair short of one trillion bucks, see NEWSPAPER STORY ON HIM: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/2009/09/16/2009-09-16_sen_max_baucus_proposal_senates_10year_health_fix_would_cost_united_states_856_b.html

STAY TUNED.
